LED Tapered Cone Installation
Slide 1-2 Typical packaging for tapered cone light engines. These are available in three shades of white, plus a variety of colors. The light module can be ordered for either a 120V or 277V application. Light modules may be ordered with a standard E27 base (medium mogul), a GU24 base for California Title 24 compliance, or with either a hard wire or Beldon cable connection for installations that do not include recessed canisters.
Slide 3-4 This light module has a standard E27 base, shown also is the flat white tapered cone trim. Note the four screws set into the back of the trim.
Slide 5 You will also select one of three retainer spring sets for your particular installation. The “M” springs, top two sets shown, are for use in “no can” installations. The springs are attached to the light module with the prongs facing down, towards the floor. When installed these springs rest on top of the ceiling material (sheetrock) pinching the outer flange to the inside of the sheetrock. The “V” spring shown is available in a standard, or wide variation for 6” or 7” can diameters.
Slide 6-7 You will need a size #1 Philip’s head screw driver to assemble the lamp.
Slide 8-10 The select spring clip attaches to the side of the light module
Slide 11 The light module has four keyholes to fit the screw heads protruding from back side of the flange.
Slide 12 Set light module over screw heads and give slight twist to set into keyhole notch. Tighten screws firmly. Make sure screws are fully tightened down, this may take some effort. Flange will be securely held if screws are properly set.
Slide 13 Fully assembled with standard “V” springs.
Slide 14-15 Typical recessed can. Note standard E27 socket mounted to bracket which is in turn secured with wing nut.
